Location tracking notice
If you drive for a carrier account on this platform: when your company accepts a load booking, your truck's GPS position — sent from the device you use to report it — becomes visible to the shipper of that specific load for as long as the booking is active. That visibility ends the moment the load is marked delivered or the booking is cancelled. It is never visible to any other shipper, and there is no screen anywhere in this platform that lists carrier positions generally.
Every time a shipper's view of a position is granted or denied, we log who looked, at which carrier, and whether access was granted — so there is always a record of who has seen a truck's location and when.
[A number of states separately regulate GPS monitoring of individuals via employer- or platform-provided systems, including notice-and-consent requirements that may apply differently depending on whether a driver is an employee of the carrier or an independent owner-operator. Counsel should confirm the specific notice/consent mechanism required in each state where drivers operate, and whether a click-through acknowledgment at booking time is sufficient or a signed notice is required.]
Electronic records and signatures
Pickup and delivery confirmations, document uploads, and account actions on this platform are recorded electronically — for example, the name of the person who released or signed for freight at a stop is typed and stored, not collected as a handwritten signature. [If this is intended to satisfy a bill-of-lading or proof-of-delivery signature requirement, counsel should confirm whether E-SIGN Act / UETA consent language is needed before a user's first electronic signature, and add it to account registration if so.]
Not a broker, not a motor carrier
DirectHaul operates a technology platform. It does not hold itself out as a motor carrier or a property broker, does not take possession of freight, and is not a party to the contract of carriage between a shipper and a carrier. See Section 2 of the Terms of Service for the full statement and the note to counsel on FMCSA broker-authority analysis.
FMCSA data notice
Operating authority status, safety rating, and related fields shown for a carrier are pulled from FMCSA's public QCMobile API using that carrier's USDOT number. This is regulatory data FMCSA already publishes; we are not the source of record for it, and a discrepancy should be raised with FMCSA directly.
Document verification notice
We do not have — and do not claim to have — access to government identity-verification databases (such as AAMVA or DHS SAVE) or a universal insurance-authentication API. Identity and insurance documents are reviewed either by a contracted, licensed verification vendor, or, until one is in place, by a human reviewer on our team. Approval means the document was reviewed and found acceptable; it is not an independent government verification. [If manual review is being used at any scale, counsel should confirm whether any FCRA-adjacent obligations apply to the review process, particularly if a rejection affects someone's ability to earn income on the platform.]
Accessibility
[Add an accessibility statement and contact method once a conformance target (e.g. WCAG 2.1 AA) has been chosen and the app has been evaluated against it.]
